How a Friction-Welded Geogrid Production Line Fits Together

Follow strip preparation, grid joining and finished-product handling, then identify the information needed to plan the equipment.

Geogrid welding and strip-handling equipment
01

What the line produces

A welded geogrid is assembled from prepared strips arranged in a grid pattern. In Ruimin’s friction-welding range, the strip construction may involve fiberglass, polyester fiber bundles, steel-plastic composite strips, or PP/PET plastic strips. Each route requires its own material and joint review.

02

Prepare the strip

Reinforced-strip extrusion brings the reinforcement and polymer coating together. Plastic-strip extrusion uses a different material construction. Define the strip cross-section, dimensions and handling requirements before selecting the extrusion stage.

03

Join the grid

Prepared strips are positioned at the required crossings and joined by lateral friction welding. This is the grid-joining stage; it should not be confused with extrusion or described as generic mechanical pressing. The strip and coating construction, crossing geometry and required joints guide the proposal.

04

Handle the finished material

Cutting, winding and handling equipment must be coordinated with the welded grid. The scope should identify which stages are supplied, which already exist at the factory, and how their interfaces will work.

05

Prepare an equipment enquiry

Send a material specification or sample, strip dimensions, a grid drawing and the required joint performance. Include target output, available space and utility information. Photographs illustrate equipment arrangements; capacity and delivery scope are confirmed for the proposed configuration.

Useful answers

Planning your next step.

Which stages belong to a welded geogrid production line?

The proposed scope can include strip preparation, grid positioning and joining, cutting, winding and material handling. The material construction determines the specific extrusion and welding equipment.
